Ultimate rural retreat for memorable get-togethers

Nestled in the wild beauty of the Brecon Beacons, The Wholehouse is a delectable dose of modern rustic charm with ten sumptuous bedrooms fit for 20 family and friends (plus 8 paws). Roam around the sprawling acres, ‘Cwtch’ up infront of the roaring fire, graze around the banquet table, watch the stars from the hot tub, or get cosy and rest with a film on the plush sofas, make your get-togethers as memorable as they can be.

Secluded retreat perfect for all ages

A secluded Welsh retreat thoughtfully designed for large gatherings becomes the perfect home for all ages. It’s a ten-bedroom dose of immaculate modern Country magic amid the soaring grandeur of the Brecon Beacons. Sleeping 16 in the farmhouse, with another 4 in The Granary, this jewel offers space in abundance to reconnect, revitalise, and enjoy being in the moment.

Bring your kids, your family, your friends, and a couple of your four-legged friends to conquer Pen y Fan, take a boat on Llangorse Lake then head back to pop a bottle of fizz, light a blazing fire and enjoy a palette of stone, slate and aged oak at this rustic beauty.

Set within a 400-acre family sheep farm and including four acres of private grounds, there is plenty of room for free-range fun. Admire the dark skies, the area is famed for in a wood-fired hot tub. Fill the wall with film in the cinema room, graze around the grand table, bag the bragging rights on the assault course, let the kid’s imagination run wild in the shepherd’s hut.

Grab a book and retire to a cosy corner or get everyone up beneath the disco balls. Embrace al-fresco dining, toast marshmallows around the firepit, savour late-night drinks among friends or just pause and take in the views. To top it all off, a tree is planted for each booking!

It’s going to be a whole lot of fun at The Wholehouse.

Hot tub, gardens and grounds

The Wholehouse offers outdoor play aplenty for your whole gathering and welcomes a couple of well-behaved dogs too. With four acres of private grounds alongside 400 acres of lush farm pasture ripe for roaming.

Gather around the fire pit, watch the sunset over panoramic views of the Beacons in the eight-seater, wood-fired hot tub, and dine in the al-fresco living space with BBQ and Pizza Oven.

The orchard provides a natural playground of bike humps to race around and an assault course to get the adrenaline pumping. The Games barn is perfect for a bit of friendly competition with the pool table, darts board and table tennis table.

Children’s imagination will come to life with the shepherd’s hut and the mud kitchen. Introduce them to the pedal tractors and the trampoline in the Old Sheep Shed or play French boules on the lawns. Remember what being together feels like.

Living Spaces

As the wall art states: Gather, Roam, Rest, Graze and Cwtch. That’s Welsh for a hug, by the way. You’ll want to do a lot of that in these warm, comfortable lodgings. Exposed stone, aged oak beams and underfloor heating throughout are the order of the day inside the sprawling spaces of The Wholehouse.

An idyllic Welsh homestay that is plush with plenty of rustic charm, but still feels like home. A sea of snug velvety sofas, cosy Welsh blankets, a roaring log fire and sociable spaces in which to gather and giggle see to that. Sign in to Netflix or use the Freesat while chilling watching your favourite shows or flick the news on while cooking breakfast.

Fancy making a night of it? Pop some popcorn, pour the Prosecco and head to the cinema room with its tiered rows of swish seating and stools, 4K HD projector and giant screen. Perfect for watching sport with a pint in hand, cwtched up with a film or get competitive with the retro game’s consoles. Keep the party coming, with a nightcap dancing under the disco balls.

All partied out? Escape the madness in The Granary sitting room or Piano link. Sink into an inviting chair, pull a book from the shelf, admire the outstanding views and unwind. This is life as it should be, at your pace, around people you choose to be with.

Cooking and dining

Thoughtfully designed for large groups and a chunky oak 22ft dining table with a colourful collection of chairs sets The Wholehouse apart from the flock. Set up for banquets of 20, or the dining space could easily accommodate 24. Sit back and absorb the atmosphere while hiring a local award-winning chef, to whip up a treat for your family and friends. It will be an experience you’ll never forget. Should you want quieter dining, there’s space for four to six around the cheerful Granary table.

This farmhouse kitchen is foodie heaven with appliances and space in abundance, as well as being Insta-beautiful in calm oatmeal hues and hand-crafted concrete worktops. There are stunning views across the luscious valley below and even a little sparkle added for impromptu kitchen discos! Get cooking on four hide-and-slide ovens and a five-burner induction hob. Put your fresh fare in the expansive freestanding fridge-freezer and pile your pots into three dishwashers.

Your very own bar of sleek slate awaits, with a commercial beer fridge and 56-bottle wine cooler ready to get the party started. Fancy eating al-fresco? Naturally, you’ve got a barbie and pizza oven, with supplied gas. Get out under the big skies and appease your appetite.

Or Foyles of Glasbury for a Sunday roast. Or tuck into tacos, enchiladas and burritos at the Tex-Mex Honey Café Bronllys.
