For the grown ups

London is part of England, but it belongs to the world. And out here in the ‘burbs, yet inside the M25, you’ve got an irresistible choice of the lights and sights of England’s capital or forays into Kent, the garden of England, with its homes and gardens, mysterious castles, and sweeping sandy beaches.

Take a short train ride into town, walk the city and wander around world-famous sights, such as iconic, 16-storey Big Ben and the parliamentary Palace of Westminster. Catch the blazing lights of Piccadilly Circus, take a ride on the London Eye and go way out west to Leicester Square for food, drinks and shows.

Be sure to discover Hyde Park, London’s biggest breathing space. Cool off in summer in the Serpentine and pack a picnic for the large expanses of grass. Refuelled? Great. You should have enough energy now for the Tower of London, home to much of England’s bloody history and the glittering Crown Jewels.

Staying local? Stay fit at David Lloyd Sidcup. Jump into the stirrups for a local trot at North Cray and Sidcup Riding School. Blast clay at Hawley Clay Shooting Ground. Shoot 18 holes at Cray Valley Golf Club or Sidcup or fish for carp at Cypry Angel Pool. Or perk yourself up with a little pampering at Royal Parade Beauty Spa.
