Love peace and tranquility? Right on the doorstep, you can enjoy the birdlife of Butley Creek estuary or the land that time forgot that is Butley village, with its ancient Oyster Inn. Or bike or walk to Orford using the Butley Ferry for sailing, crabbing and river trips from Orford quay.

Netflix fan? The Ralph Fiennes film, The Dig, about the discovery of Sutton Hoo, was filmed just a mile away at Butley Creek and the ancient boat burial grounds at Sutton Hoo are 15 minutes’ drive away. Cult TV series The Detectorists was also filmed in the countryside around Butley.

Walk the River Deben from Woodbridge, which also comes with one of the top ten high streets in the UK. Visit Snape Maltings, epicentre of music, eateries and galleries.
