With its battlemented parapets and mullioned windows, oh and ten acres of rolling parkland, Apley Hall might give you visions of a grander life. You’ll be rushing out to buy croquet hoops, a 1967 Bentley and a family coat of arms. Close to the River Severn, Apley Hall welcomes up to 23 family and friends in eight splendid bedrooms.
So Gothic, so stately, so elegant is Apley Hall that you’ll feel like you’re in the pages of a classic novel. And yet, with delightful soft furnishings, chandeliers, freestanding baths and the odd four-poster, you’ll feel fully at home. There’s even a banquet room for family feasts, but make sure you pre-book.
This is the big get-together you’ve been planning, and it comes in a romantic castle overlooking one of England most-majestic rivers. Amid ornate plaster and fan-vaulted ceilings, you’ll play games, walk trails, cook for England, dine in baronial style, and sleep in bedrooms big enough for tennis. Racket presses and monocles optional.
There’s a lot to get through. Apley Hall comes with ten acres of formal lawned garden and rolling parkland to explore. Stroll elegant walkways through timeless topiary, past the pond, busts and fountains. Check out the River Severn views. Dine and entertain under the wooden pergola in the southern corner.
Designed to emulate a romantic castle, Apley Hall has inspired many a famous Gothic novel. Its elegantly restored spaces sit ready for you to write your own chapter. State-room interiors showcase ornate plaster and fan-vaulted ceilings with large sash windows that frame parkland views.
Kick back on sumptuous Chesterfield sofas beneath dripping chandeliers. Come together in reception rooms fit for royalty. Escape to others for full-size snooker, pool or just serene silence. Work up a sweat in the gym and sauna, then cool off with Netflix in the cinema room.
Cook on two ovens and two electric hobs and fill the fridge/freezer with tasty morsels from Apley Farm Shop. Or take a night off and pick from DineIndulge’s range of international menus and enjoy restaurant-quality dining in the sublime comfort of Apley’s dining room. Better still, book the banquet hall by request and really live it up.

We don’t recommend it, but bedrooms here are big enough to host a football match. And if you’re not playing, you can put your feet up and spectate in generous lounge areas and big, forgiving beds. Apley Hall sleeps 23 in all-enveloping rural silence.
The master four-poster bedroom suite showcases its own sitting room, two fireplaces, en-suite bathroom, and calming views across the gardens. Bedrooms two and three offer queen-sized beds, while bedrooms four and five are kingsize.
Family-friendly bedroom six provides a double and three singles, and bedroom seven a kingsize and three singles. Bedroom eight comes with a double and a single.
