Located in a beautiful part of Devon, Barcroft Estate is a resplendent country cottage surrounded by 14 acres of manicured gardens. This luxurious estate is well located, only a short drive away from dozens of exciting holiday activities and the popular coastal towns of Dartmouth and Salcombe.
The estate has three separate residences which can sleep up to 21 people in total. All three buildings combine charming country exteriors with luxurious interior spaces. Rooms are modern, well-appointed, welcoming and intimate — visitors feel like they are staying at a friend’s luxurious country house instead of a rental property. Barcroft Manor
The largest building on the property, Barcroft Manor is a very large and impressive country home. Located near the top of the estate, the manor has spectacular views of the grounds. Upon entering the manor, visitors will be impressed by the designer interiors which feature a combination of antique and contemporary furniture.
The luxurious living areas feature Jane Churchill fabrics and Farrow & Ball paints to create impressive spaces which look like they belong in an interior design magazine. The design aesthetic of rooms in the manor combine elegant classical influences with country farmhouse warmth and modern amenities.
Bancroft Manor sleeps up to 11 guests in five bedrooms — three super kingsize bedrooms, another super kingsize with a single and one king size bedroom. Two of the super kingsize bedrooms contain zip-and-link beds which can be separated into twin beds.

The manor has an impressive country-style kitchen which includes an oil-fired Aga, electric oven and hob, walk in pantry, granite worktops, American-style fridge-freezer, and every modern amenity a budding chef could require. There is also a large BBQ outside if you wish to prepare a meal outside. If you prefer not to cook at all, there is a chef available for hire and a wide range of quality restaurants nearby.
The dining room is an impressive space in which to enjoy your meal, with rich red walls, polished timber floors, an open fireplace and a bagatelle dining table that sits 12. If you want to make the most of the beautiful estate, there is also plenty of seating outside.
The Garden House
The Garden House features a beautiful open plan living area with vaulted ceiling that creates a light and airy space. This living area features lovely views of the estate and French doors give guests quick access to the outdoors.
This building sleeps up to six adults, and two children in four bedrooms — one super kingsize, one double, one twin and a children’s twin bedroom with cabin beds. Two of the bedrooms have an ensuite bath or shower room. The Garden House also has a kitchen with modern amenities and appliances.
The Coach House
The Coach House is also designed in an open plan fashion with large French doors that open up to a terrace. The open plan area features flagstone floors, an inglenook and comfortable plush sofas. This building sleeps up to four guests in two bedrooms (one super kingsize and one twin).
Nearby Activities
Barcroft estate is a fantastic place to bring children. They will spend their days exploring the estate, playing on swing sets, having a game of tennis, enjoying the heated outdoor swimming pool, jumping in the soft cushion play room, using the boules court or simply watching the wildlife. There are cots, high chairs and children’s cutlery available on the estate to help parents reduce the number of items they need to bring. A baby sitting service is also available by prior arrangement.
There are plenty of nearby attractions that children will love including the Woodlands Leisure Park. Steam railway, Pennywell Farm and Paignton Zoo. They might also enjoy going crabbing in Dartmouth or Rockpooling at one of the nearby beaches.
Some of the other activities and facilities on the estate include Large screen TVs with DVD players, WIFI Internet, game consoles with games, table football, sauna & steam room, various books and board games.
There are also plenty of activities for adults to enjoy nearby including sailing on the River Dart, canoeing, swimming at the beach or in the river, surfing, boogie boarding, windsurfing, rock climbing, golf, shopping, visiting local spas and dining at one of the great local restaurants.
