Food, Music, Country. What ever your taste there’s a festival for you.
Whitsun Bank Holiday is upon us once again, and what better way to celebrate than by heading to a fun local festival.
Whitsun Fayre – Bury St Edmonds
The Whitsun Fayre is a very popular family orientated event, which includes a flower market, children’s farm, farmers’ market and much more. Bury St Edmonds is a two day event where you will find something for the whole family.
The Farmers’ Market is a real treat, it has a great selection of locally sourced food and drink from a range of artisan producers.
The Fayre will be spread across the town centre, our top tip, make sure you pay a visit to the arc to take a ride on the giant carousel, pick up a hot dog and cool down with an ice cream.
Dulverton is a small but thriving rural town with a rich and varied history, and the Folk Festival certainly has that friendly village feel.
As well as some of the best folk music around and the odd morris dancer, the Dulverton Folk Festival also has great workshops for the whole family to get involved in, and the kids will love getting suck into the singing and music making.
This is the eighth year for the Folk Festival, and did we mention, it is completely free.
Dorchester Festival
Every two years, Dorchester Arts brings the Festival to Dorset’s county town and the 11th Dorchester Festival will take place from 22 – 26 May this year.
You better make the most of this Festival, as it only comes round every two years it is a must this year. Enjoy plays, music and plenty of fun for the kids.
Our favourite part of any festival is the parade, and the Dorchester Festival is no different. The colours and music lead its way to a mass bangra class, so get your dancing shoes on and get involved.
The Heart of Devon Festival – Crediton
The Heart Of Devon is a free, family friendly festival, which takes place in Bow Village between Copplestone & Okehampton.
Hot food will be available throughout the day, all made using local produce along with a fully licensed bar, or bring along your own picnic and enjoy time with the family.
Relax in the sunshine, listen to great music and make the most of all the local produce and crafts on offer.
