Stock up on essentials at local supermarkets, and fill the fridge with fizz from Tanner’s. Cook on two ovens and five-ring induction hob. Get everyone together in the bright, light dining area with garden views, or fire up the gas barbie and eat out in the summer sunshine. Take a night off with takeaways from The Great Wall (Chinese), Zaika Lounge (Indian), and Efe’s for kebabs and burgers. Make it a fish supper from Shawbury Fish Bar, a few minutes drive away.
Pub it at your local, The New Inn in Hadnall for traditional meals washed down with real ales. Dine locally ‘a la carte’ at The Croft at Beaconsfield on Gressingham duck breast, medallions of prime beef fillet or roasted-vegetable goulash. Or try The Corbet Arms for seasonal produce, Sunday roast, burgers, and brunch.
Head to The Fox and Hounds in Shawbury for slow-cooked lamb shank, homemade Thai curry or sugar-baked ham. Go upmarket with the tasting menu at The Haughmond or just drop in with your muddy boots and bike to the on-site Bakery and Pedal Stop for jacket potatoes, pastries, and ice cream.
Willow Spa House comes with seven bedrooms with super-comfy super king bed, each with a TV and en-suite shower room. The primary bedroom boasts an ensuite with a freestanding bath to soak your muscles after a long walk, or breeze into the walk-in shower.
There’s plenty of room here for 14 guests, with a maximum of six children, amid the hotel-grade linen and complimentary bathrobes. All seven bedrooms offer a superking Ziplock bed offering the option of singles, and many will take a cot.
