Gorgeous Getaways: UK Holiday Ideas for 2025

It’s never too early to plan your next getaway. But what should you choose to make your 2025 holiday truly unique and special? Take a look at our list of top holiday spots that are standing out in our forecast for 2025.

Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire

Marsden Manor - kate & tom's Large Holiday Homes

Everyone’s heard of the grand and imposing Blenheim Palace in Woodstock, Oxfordshire – just outside Oxford. After all, this 300-year-old country house is actually a UNESCO World Heritage site.

But there are new things afoot in 2025 that make Blenheim Palace worth a visit even for those who’ve stopped by before.

For one, the below-stairs area of the home will be open to visitors for the first time ever. From April onward, Blenheim Palace’s kitchen will host a new exhibit called Life Below Stairs, which will recreate the life of the palace’s servants in 1890.

Even more excitingly, from May onwards, visitors will be able to access a viewing platform on the palace’s rooftop. This experience will only be accessible while roof repairs are ongoing, so make sure you head to Blenheim Palace soon after April if you don’t want to miss it.

Farne Islands, Northumberland

Bird watchers, seal watchers, divers and nature lovers all know the Farne Islands in Northumberland as a gorgeous place that’s a haven for wildlife.

Between April and September, you can take a boat to the island of Inner Farne to walk among the seabirds there and see the historic St Cuthbert’s Chapel. There are also several options for boat tours and cruises that sail around the islands.

But the biggest attraction that has made the Farne Islands shine in 2025 is the Serenity Boat Tours Grey Seals & Seabird Cruise, which won the gold award for Experience of the Year in VisitEngland’s 2024 Awards for Excellence.

There’s no better time to head to these beautiful islands and see their award-winning scenery and unique wildlife for yourself.

The Royal Mint Experience, Llantrisant

Here’s another award-winner – the Royal Mint Experience in Llantrisant, Wales. In 2024, its guided tour won ‘Best Guided Tour’ for the second time at the Group Leisure and Travel Awards and was also shortlisted for ‘Best Museum or Gallery’. It’s also won numerous other awards in previous years.

The Royal Mint’s tour stands out for many reasons, but one of them is that it’s highly accessible. Since the entire tour area is flat, it’s fully wheelchair accessible, and autism-friendly tours with a reduced sensory experience are also available.

After you’ve finished your tour of the mint, why not head down to one of Wales’ beautiful beaches, such as Rhossili Bay Beach in Swansea?

York Walking Tours, Yorkshire

Yorkshire - kate & tom's Large Holiday Homes

York is always an amazing destination for holiday-goers. But it earned special glory in 2024 when two different York walking tour experiences landed on VisitEngland’s 2024 awards list.

One is the Deathly Dark Tours experience, a theatrical and spooky tour. The other is the Wizard Walk of York, a more family-friendly experience that won three other tourism awards in 2024 alone, in addition to the VisitEngland award.

So, if you’ve been considering visiting Yorkshire, 2025 is a great time to go and take a fantastical tour!
