Meadow View celebrates the beauty of the newly unwrapped, the pristine and the perfect. It’s a grand new-build with everything where it should be and enough toys to make it feel like Christmas Day every day here in rural Kent, just a hop trail from London and a lazy wend through the High Weald away from the south coast.
You can view the meadow, here, obviously, and a glance out onto the terrace also reveals more goodies in the garden. Dive into the heated outdoor pool, simmer in the hot tub, do dinner in the outdoor kitchen, gas barbie and pizza oven with wine chilling in the outdoor fridge. Then toast your marshies around the firepit when the sun dips.
Meadow View accommodates 12 family and friends plus cots in six sumptuous en-suite bedrooms. Turn the key, drop off your bags and say goodbye to the children. Catch up with them when they’ve worn out the trampoline, the table-tennis table, footie nets, and the outdoor playhouse and swings.
Inside, the 75-inch TV in the playroom delivers Sky Sports, Sky Movies, Netflix and Amazon Prime. You can also catch all that on the 50-inch snug TV, the master-bedroom telly and the kids’ room. Stream on the 60-meg WiFi, and play sounds on the Sonos and pool in the playroom. It’s like Toys R Us here.
Indoors is fun here, but the garden’s really groaning with toys. In half an acre of manicured meadow, you can dive into the pool, heated to 32 degrees and simmer in the hot tub. Towel off and stick your steaks on the barbie or your pizza in the oven. Grab a Prosecco from the outdoor fridge and sit in the covered bar.
Let the kids loose on the trampoline, the table-tennis table, and the playhouse and swings. Or throw them a ball and send them out to the footie nets. Take tea on the terrace, then break out the marshmallows and light the firepit beneath the stars.
Start dreaming up excuses to celebrate with family and friends in the High Weald countryside. No birthdays ending in zero? No wedding anniversaries? Come to Kent and celebrate life itself beneath big skies with toys galore and space aplenty to hang out, kick off your shoes and chill your beans.
Behind the electric gates, you’ve got spaces in which to congregate and spaces to slide away beneath headphones or in the grip of a best-seller. The fun starts in the playroom, with footie and films on the 75-inch TV, and pool table and games console waiting to while away the hours.
You’ve four TVs in total, including a hideaway 50” in the snug. Each one offers Sky Sports and Sky Movies, Amazon Prime Video and Netflix, so stock up on Prosecco and popcorn. You can stream stuff on the sixty-meg Sky WiFi, set your soundtrack on the Sonos, and don’t forget to throw another log on the fire.
Cook, dine and live outdoors at Meadow View, with its outdoor kitchen complete with gas barbecue and pizza oven. Pick a space to sit on the terraces, pull a bottle of fizz from the outdoor fridge, chink glasses and chill. After eating al-fresco, gather around the pool for a Nespresso beneath the Milky Way.
Inside, options abound, with a large kitchen table for 12, a breakfast bar for six, smaller kitchen table for six and dining-room space for a dozen. Cook on the two conventional ovens, one steam/combi oven and large induction hob, then drop the lot in the two dishwashers when you’re done.
Prefer to take it easy? Call up Purple Pumpkin for canapes, starters, mains and desserts, be waited on and get busy doing nothing. Take away something tasty from Zan Chinese, Prince of Kent for Indian, or Goudhurst Inn for pizza. Stock up on meat and cheese from Hartley Farm Shop and fizz from the Secret Cellar.
Eat out on sauteed pigeon breast or potted rabbit washed down with cask ale at The Milk House in Sissinghurst, or beef shin and marrow ballotine or pickled pear at The Goudhurst Inn, with ingredients from the Garden of England. Sample the taste of two AA Rosettes at The Kentish Hare or try more fine dining at Thackeray’s.
Deep in the silence of the High Weald, surrounded by lush meadowland, you’ll sleep like a log whichever room you choose, but you have six to pick from, and all come with delicious, comfort-packed en-suites.
Bedroom one is a superking, while bedrooms two to six offer kingsize beds. All bedrooms will fit a cot and a zed-bed. The master bedroom has a 50” TV and bedroom six a 32-inch TV that’s perfect for kids.
Pick a hotel for your holidays and, no matter how posh it is, they’ll be confined to one room for much of the time, when they need space to explore and grow. There’s no shortage of that at Meadow View, in this sprawling new-build with its one-acre garden. It comes packed with toys, both inside and out, too.
Those toys are at their biggest in the garden with its view of the meadow beyond. The elephant on the terrace is the 11-metre swimming pool, heated to a comfortable 32 degrees from March to October. Finish off with a dip in the hot tub beneath the pergola, towel down and it’s on to the outdoor table tennis.
Stay out in the sunshine for a pizza from the oven, a barbie from the outdoor kitchen and a milk shake from the fridge. When that’s done and digested, it’s on to the trampoline, the footie nets, and the outdoor playhouse and swings. And bring your marshmallows and skewers for nights around the firepit.
Indoors, the playroom’s the place for a spot of pool while watching football or a film on the 75-inch TV with Sky Movies, Sky Sports, Netflix and Amazon Prime. Disagreement over viewing fare? There’s another telly in the snug. Stream your WiFi at 60-meg on Sky and get some sounds on your Sonos.
