The Grotto

Water’s Reach

The muted call of the curlew and skylark are the only sounds that disturb the velvet hush here in the Peak District. There’s space to think, to break out of the grind and graft of life and enjoy the company of family and friends.
You’ll find that space both inside and out at Derwent Manor near Matlock. Among the palatial spaces is the living room, lit by a crystal chandelier and warmed by an open fire that invites the turning of pages or the playing of charades.
As the chatter lulls, the clink of glasses fades and the canopy of stars covers the Peaks, you’ll sleep deeply in ten decadent en-suite bedrooms. As a new sun breaks over the grand Derbyshire hills, you’ll yawn, stretch and do it all again. Bliss.
At the rear of Derwent Manor there is a terrace and landscaped formal garden leading off from the traditional Dining Room.
The lovely garden terrace can be set up for al fresco dining during the summer months.
Enjoy the landscaped gardens with croquet on the lawn.
