High peaks and palatial spaces

Break out of the grind and graft of life in the high and glorious Peaks, where the curlew and skylark offer the soundtrack to your glorious escape. Relax in characterful spaces, take croissants and coffee on the terrace, play croquet on the lawn. You could unwind forever at Derwent Manor.

Where the unwinding is unrelenting

The muted call of the curlew and skylark are the only sounds that disturb the velvet hush here in the Peak District. There’s space to think, to break out of the grind and graft of life and enjoy the company of family and friends.

You’ll find that space both inside and out at Derwent Manor near Matlock. Among the palatial spaces is the living room, lit by a crystal chandelier and warmed by an open fire that invites the turning of pages or the playing of charades.

Take croissants and coffee or Sunday brunch on the terrace. Call up the chef and dine in style. Wander the gorgeous garden terrace with G&T in hand. Play croquet on the lawn. At Derwent Manor, the unwinding is unrelenting.

As the chatter lulls, the clink of glasses fades and the canopy of stars covers the Peaks, you’ll sleep deeply in ten decadent en-suite bedrooms. As a new sun breaks over the grand Derbyshire hills, you’ll yawn, stretch and do it all again. Bliss.

Gardens and Grounds

At the rear of Derwent Manor there is a terrace and landscaped formal garden leading off from the traditional Dining Room.

The lovely garden terrace can be set up for al fresco dining during the summer months.

Enjoy the landscaped gardens with croquet on the lawn.

"We held our joint 40th's here and celebrated in perfect style. It was a real delight seeing our guests faces as they wandered around choosing their bedrooms, each one stunning. " - Sharon
"We had a fantastic stay at Derwent Manor, the property itself is far more impressive than any of the photos suggest and is dripping with character and quirky touches which we loved. If you are a fan of old buildings, National Trust or English Heritage and are looking for that certain special experience that transports you back in time - then this is the place! In fact it is so impressive that we drove past it 3 times not realising that it was our accommodation!" - Rachel
