The roe deer roam, the buzzards buzz, the woodpeckers peck and the barn owls simply hoot to their quiet rural satisfaction.
Cob Farm sits between two nature reserves, between the sheep and the surf, between childhood memories and adult downtime. This is a slice of West Country heaven. Cob Farm is made up of two contemporary barn conversions – the Cob for nine and the Red Barn for four.
Heading out and about around Bude? Pedal the Camel Trail and stop for fish n’ chips by the beach. Build sandcastles at Summerleaze. Brave the barrel of rolling waves on your surfboard and watch the sun set at Widemouth. Walk the local coastal paths. When your legs get tired, your heart will take over.
The Cob is a stunning contemporary, family friendly barn conversion, flooded with sunlight. It sleeps 9 plus cots and is beautiful inside and out. It has two private terraces and a large grassy garden, perfect for football, al fresco breakfasts (from the small-holdings free range hens) or evening sundowners. The bi fold doors to the eastern terrace bring the outside in, creating a wonderful space.
Its interior is clean & crisp, mixed with colourful accent walls and printed wallpapers, with a great log burner in the lounge.
The barn has a very large open plan lounge and a kitchen diner equipped with all mod cons. The roomy dining table will comfortably sit 10. There’s a large central range cooker, so cooking is a very sociable occasion.
The Cob has three bedrooms upstairs, overlooking open countryside, and a further bedroom downstairs. Upstairs there is a double, with kingsize bed, a twin/double (can be arranged as either with zip and link beds), and a fun bunk room, which also has a truckle bed, so sleeps 3 comfortably. These bedrooms share a large family bathroom with complimentary REN toiletries.
The Red Barn is a stylish barn conversion sleeping 4 plus a cot. It makes a great addition to the Cob, where there is room for everyone to relax together.
The Red Barn has a sun flooded open plan lounge, kitchen, diner. The kitchen is equipped with all mod cons. There’s a highchair to go with the four-seater dining table and two comfy sofas, flat screen TV with DVD player. There is also an iPod dock, wifi, and a wide selection of DVD’s and games for parents and kids alike. And a wood burning stove with logs supplied from the farm’s own woodlands.
The barn has two pretty downstairs bedrooms. One twin, one double. Both bedrooms have Egyptian cotton bedding and lots of storage. They share a large bathroom with a bath, shower and complimentary organic REN toiletries.
The Red Barn has its own large private deck overlooking a very large (football friendly) garden and tree-lined fields, set within a sprawling smallholding and sandwiched between nature reserves. Kids can explore and find the secret house in the woods while picking up fresh eggs from our very friendly chickens.
The terrace faces east so it’s steeped in sunlight all morning. Stray beyond that and you’ll find a fruit-festooned orchard and flower-filled meadows.
