Fresh Fish, Real Ales
and Picasso in Cornwall

When you’re visiting Cornwall there are three things you won’t want to miss during your stay in this cherished county of the South West: quality dining, traditional pubbing and a dose of art from the masters for good measure. Taking you from Port Isaac to Zennor and finally to the famous cultural hub that is St Ives, these places stick out in the memories of many a happy Cornwall holiday-goer.

The Tinners Arms | Zennor
For over 700 years The Tinners has been close to the heart of village life in Zennor, originally built to accommodate the masons who built St Senara’s Church. Step back in time with a pint of Tinners Ale in your hand while you catch some local music played live in a cosy corner by the open fire. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, there’s always a friendly atmosphere and Thursday nights are Folk Night. What more do you need? When the weather’s doing its best, make the most of the fresh coastal air outside in the gardens with stunning views out to the Atlantic. Need more reasons to visit? The famous writer D. H. Lawrence put it best in 1916:

“At Zennor one sees infinite Atlantic, all peacock-mingled colours, and the gorse is sunshine itself. Zennor is a most beautiful place: a tiny granite village nestling under high shaggy moor-hills and a big sweep of lovely sea beyond, such a lovely sea, lovelier even than the Mediterranean… It is the best place I have been in, I think”

Tate | St Ives
An afternoon or even a short half-hour spell making your way through the hushed galleries of somewhere like the Tate can make everything else fall into place. One of only four Tates, the Tate Modern in St Ives brings together even more exceptional art from home and abroad. Don’t miss The Ey Exhibition: Picasso 1932 – Love, Fame, Tragedy, which runs 8th March – 9th September 2018. This is the first ever solo exhibition of Picasso at the Tate Modern. See him as never before – the man and artist behind the enduring myth.
