The ultimate playstation

It’s just a three-iron across the golf course to Fistral Beach, home to iconic summer events and a major European surf scene. Back at architect-designed Zone 9, the choice for stags and hens is the Playstation 4, the surround-sound 70” TV, the karaoke machine or drinks on the terrace as the sun sets. Decisions, decisions.

Surf, sunsets and surround sound

Cross the golf course in the direction of the waves and you’re there. Right on Fistral Beach – surf capital of the UK and home to wondrous boho festivals and events. When your day on Newquay’s iconic beach is done, you can catch sunset views of the bay from Zone 9, architect-designed, sleeping 20 and bursting with wow factor.

Stags, hens and large groups flock to Zone 9 like seabirds to jetty posts. It’s smart, modern and party-perfect. It’s got a 70” TV with Sony Sonos surround sound and premium Sky package. It’s got table football. It’s got a Playstation. Hey, Zone 9 even has an outside shower for sandy surfers.

Explore more and the goodies continue. The wifi/Bluetooth-compatible stereo comes with flush ceiling speakers. The décor looks like an upmarket cocktail bar. You’ve even got a Karaoke machine for those stay-at-home party nights.

On balmy Cornish evenings, there’s nothing better than the party spilling outdoors, and the smartly landscaped garden is waiting. Ask it nicely and it’ll probably top up your glass. For great evening views, head for the south-west-facing front patio, charge your glass and toast the dipping sun.

Gardens and Grounds

The greatest garden is out there beyond the boundaries of Zone 9. It’s Fistral Beach, just over the golf course, where the wild North Shore surf barrels against the rocks and the golden sands.

But Zone 9 gives you nice external options, too. The garden comes smartly landscaped, wearing its party best for when the celebrations spill outdoors. To catch the last rays of the day, choose the south-west-facing front patio and raise your glasses to balmy Cornish evenings.

Living Spaces

The leather chairs are waiting. The TV remote lies on the chair arm. The 70” 3D TV with Sony surround sound and premium Sky package is ready. The beers are on the table. Kick-off is five minutes away. The chill-out room is ready. Are you?

At Zone 9, the décor is minimalist and magnificent, and the home and vision of an inspired Australian architect. There’s a wow-factor double-reception and kitchen area – so chop and chat, drink and dine, linger and mingle. But it might be the goodies that fill the spaces that will inspire you the most.

Fire up the soundtrack to your Newquay stag, hen or group holiday on the wifi/Bluetooth-compatible stereo with flush ceiling speakers. Compete for house bragging rights over the table football or on the Playstation 4. Complete a perfect day with some imperfect notes on the Karaoke system.

Zone 9 is party heaven and Newquay’s premier seaside holiday property. With every effort made to make things go with a swing, it’s up to you to do it justice.

Cooking and Dining

You’ll be wowed by the double-reception and kitchen area. Socialise where the steaks sizzle and the wine flows as easily as the conversation. If you’d prefer to eat al fresco, choose from landscaped lawn at the back or sun-drenched terrace at the front.

Prefer to take it easy? Call up our chef to magic up a meal for however many. From a one-off occasion to a fully catered break, we’ll get our whites on and whip up something special. We’ll even willingly wash up.

Other dining options are even more mouth-watering now that Rick Stein is in town. Fancy a lamb karahi or a fish chilli burger on Fistral Beach? How about a crispy-skinned barramundi at unique Aussie-Cornish fusion Bush Pepper? Maybe chicken linguine at Lewinnick Lodge or slow-cooked lamb shank at The Dolphin?

It’s all within a brisk walk of Zone 9. Half an hour away in Padstow, Nathan Outlaw and Paul Ainsworth serve up fine dining that glitters with Michelin stars.

Sleeping 20 in six bedrooms, Zone 9 allows everyone to zone in on the feelgood party atmosphere.

The kingsize master bedroom comes with views across the golf course to the breaking waves of Fistral Beach. You’ll also find two twin bedrooms, another with three singles and one with bunk beds.

Even the entertainment room comes with a double sofa bed and en-suite. Five of the bedrooms have en-suites or washbasins and there’s a shared master bathroom with bath and shower. Three of the beds are zip and link.

Maybe you weren’t planning on doing much sleeping, but it’s nice to know there are plenty of options if the urge should suddenly strike.

Where to begin?

Newquay doesn’t come with instructions. The surfing, the beach, the bars, the clubs, the restaurants and the good vibes all explain themselves. Ice the cake (or white-top the surf) with paintballing, bike hire, go-karting, coasteering, jet-skiing, deep-sea fishing and scuba diving. And that’s just day one…
