Where everything flows

An estuary beach house full of wood, slate, glass and so much heart. Get family or friends together and drink in the views, fire up the terrace barbie, put life on pause. Although The Sunday Times, Tatler and Condé Nast Traveller located the Slate Beach House, the world will never find you here.

Magic inside and out

The spectacular Slate Beach House is all slate, concrete, wood and glass – yet it’s all heart, too. Here, everything flows, from the minimalist creamy linen and warm oak interior to the grand sweep of drinks-ready decking, to the Camel Estuary panorama.

The Slate Beach House hides beautifully among the ebb and flow of the Cornish landscape, but the upmarket travel magazines located it. The Sunday Times praised the ‘eyefuls of estuary’. Tatler said it’s perfect for a family seaside holiday or grown-up house party. And Condé Nast Traveller declared it one of Europe’s 25 best villas.

Perhaps they loved the cool and curvy gardens, secreting a hot tub, a firepit and a swinging pumpkin seat. Perhaps they fell for the oversized furniture, the underfloor heating or the second-floor terrace, scene of many a clinking glass and sizzling steak.

This isn’t just a house, it’s a venue. One minute from the Camel Trail, the Slate Beach House crackles and sparkles with magic inside and out. Put life on pause, drink in the views and sip deeply from the well of good living.

Gardens and Grounds

The magical gardens are designed by Mary Reynolds, Gold Medal winner at the Chelsea Flower Show and are a joy to explore.

Wrapped up in blankets, toasting marshmallows and singing Kumbayah along to the guitar all gathered around the large fire pit in the garden, summer and winter evenings are made for moments like this with your nearest and dearest.

The Cedar Wood Hot Tub has stunning views and is perfect for enjoying the sunset with a glass of wine and your friends and family.

Outside there is an outdoor shower for those returning from shrimping, or playing below on the estuary.

Best Party Pad "with eyefuls of the estuary from the open-plan living area" - The Sunday Times, 2012
"By the far the most beautiful house I have ever stayed in. The photos simply do not do it justice, as it is impossible to capture the calm and peaceful atmosphere of the house and its surroundings. Every room has a view, plus its own shower and bathtub....you simply can not beat that! " - Max
"As perfect for a family seaside holiday as it for a grown up house party" - Tatler, 2012
"Unparalleled house, cool, hip and fun. We had the house for two weeks, and filled it with friends, children and grandparents. Absolutely fabulous no matter the weather. We hired bikes and cycled everywhere, fun walking trips, boat trips, shopping (fudge, ice-cream, and not forgetting the clotted cream tea breakfasts!). Try champagne in the hot tub at night and lobster for dinner!!!! " - Fiona
"Made of glass, local slate and stone, this exceptionally comfortable contemporary house is the ideal place for a getaway...perfect for a honeymoon, a meditative retreat, a family holiday or an away stay for executive bonding. There is loads to do in the area and some notable places to eat; we rode bikes into Padstow, played golf at St Enedoc, had fish and chips at the famous Rick Stein restaurant, walked for hours along the coastline and watched the sun go down in the outside hot tub before barbecuing on the terrace. Exceptional taste and style. Bathrooms are state of the art and there is an abundant flow of hot water, fluffy towels and great DVDs in the TV room. Honestly, we had the most wonderful and restful time. I am definitely going to rent it again! " - Melissa
"Simply stunning house. Architecturally amazing and a great party house. Jane, the housekeeper, was lovely. Nice welcome basket. Facilities exceptional. Can’t really fault it at all. Would love to return!" - Julie
